CROATIAN SOPARNIK

INTRODUCTION

At the beginning, this was food only for poor people, but now this is a traditional dish and is usually served for holidays or festivities.

INGREDIENTS

  • flour 500 gr
  • pinch of salt
  • warm water 300 ml
  • mangel leaves 350 gr
  • onion 1 pieces
  • olive oil 100 ml
  • garlic cloves 4 pieces

STEPS

  • Mix flour with warm water, salt and a small amount of olive oil.
  • Form a soft dough and leave aside for an hour.
  • Wash mangel and remove the middle part so you are left with only soft leaves.
  • In a bowl mix strips of mangel, sliced onion and garlic and olive oil.
  • Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll out the first part so it is thin and even.
  • Put the filling on top of the firs dough and divide equally.
  • Put the filling on top of the firs dough and divide equally.
  • Roll out the second dough an put on top of the first one.
  • Secure the ends and bake for 15-20 min and 220 °C
  • When is baked drizzle olive oil on top of it with one crushed garlic clove.
