AROMATIC HERBS AND THE USE IN THE DENTAL HYGIENE

The volunteers at La Buona Terra farm decided to make a workshop about how to use some common plants for teeth hygiene, here some hints for you and the recipe for an homemade toothpaste!
Sage:
- Against plaque and bad smells
- Useful for whitening teeth
- Disinfectant properties.
Thyme:
- Antiseptic
- Antibacterial
- Antispasmodic
- Strengthens tooth enamel
- Protects against aging.
Mint:
- Against bad breath
- Antiseptic
- Refreshing.

Recipe: homemade natural toothpaste
Ingredients:
- 4 Spoons of clay: antibacterial, good for the immune defense system, good for cicatrization.
- 1 little spoon of sage or thyme. Can be dried plant or essential oil.
- 5 drops of mint essential oil.
- Optional: 1 little spoon of baking soda: it’s whitening and works against bad smells, but it’s not good for everyday use (abusive for the enamel).
- Optional: 5 cloves: analgesic and anesthetic properties against teeth pain.
- Optional: add water to have a paste, or keep it dry to use it as a powder.
