The experience of Renad, who attended “Do it yourself! For sustainable living” youth exchange in Sweden.
Renad went to Sweden, in August 2022 to participate in the Erasmus+ youth exchange “Do it yourself! For sustainable living”.
This is his story!
During the project, I was truly convinced that the small changes we make toward living more sustainably can make a big difference.
Of course, I wish that I could truly commit and become vegan and never drive, but I know that is not realistic. But bringing a reusable bottle when I drink water is absolutely feasible, and there’s no excuse for me not to do it.
Moreover, I experienced more about how to reduce my fossil fuel emission by catching the bus and walking when I can; carrying reusable and low carbon emission bottle instead of consuming water inside the plastic bottle; learned more about how to better recycle at home (and in public) whenever I have the option.
Obviously, in the beginning, I faced some challenges while trying to incorporate these changes in a way that was sustainable for my life. However, overall, the outcome has been positive. Plus, I got some savings while living a more sustainable lifestyle.
From now on, I want to continue to implement these tips into my life as much as possible, and my next challenge is to try to quit using paper towels.
