Training course for youth leaders
An extra activity, made possible by the remaining project budget. It picked up the themes of LEAD UP! and went deeper, for members of the partner organisations, some of whom had already taken part in the project.
What happened
- Managing a group and the role of the facilitator.
- The dos and don’ts of organising a non-formal education activity.
- The key pillars of a youth exchange and the roles of participant, leader and facilitator.
- Preparing and running an activity for the rest of the group, with feedback.
Results
- A toolkit for facilitators of youth exchanges: must-do activities (reflection groups, energisers, intercultural evenings, icebreakers, fears-expectations-contributions), tips for debriefing, and step-by-step instructions for the activities run by participants. It was shared with partners and participants.
- The course ran alongside a parallel training with the same programme. In the joint evaluation of both groups, the average overall score was 8.9 out of 10 (24 responses).
