Apply to join the group of 36 young people from Italy, Spain, France, Lithuania and Romania who will meet in Passignano sul Trasimeno (Umbria) to discuss and do activities on colonial goods and fair trade: a way to combine environmental and human sustainability of production processes.
The project “Fairly Dressed Chocolate” is organised within the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. The topics of the project will be addressed through activities such as workshops, debates, presentations, intercultural dinners, visits, recreational activities and non-formal education in general. This will help participants to expand their horizons, acquire practical knowledge on the topic, get acquainted with other cultures and make friends with young people from other countries. For further information, please find here the project infopack.
Participants will be hosted on the La Buona Terra educational farm, where they will stay in a large cottage. The rooms will be shared (5 or 6 per room) and will have mixed nationalities. The farm is located in the middle of a centuries-old olive grove in Passignano sul Trasimeno, a small town on Lake Trasimeno, in Umbria, Italy. The place that houses La Buona Terra was built in 1821 and has functioned as the first educational farm in Italy for the past 30 years. The place hosts various types of educational activities with children, young people and adults of all ages. It produces organic olive oil and essential oils of aromatic herbs such as lavender, sage, rosemary… Since 2015, the Kora Association has been working with La Buona Terra using its natural environment promoting the goals of sustainable living and environmental education. Since then, it hosts educational projects such as youth exchanges and training courses. Kora also hosts volunteers who work mainly in the fields of sustainable agriculture, eco-building, cooking and much more. The farm places great emphasis on self-responsibility and respect for nature. Some basic rules will be given during the stay in order to respect the place, inside and outside, to respect the people living in the surroundings, to respect the animals, to control the environmental impact (water, electricity…) and to create a safe and fun environment throughout the project.
Board and lodging are covered by the Erasums+ programme. Travel will be reimbursed up to 275€. ⚠️ The event will comply with all applicable COVID-19 regulations. More information will be given at the selection stage. ⚠️
